Winter tourist season on Lake Baikal is open
Great Baikal quest in Listvyanka village of Irkutsk region opened the winter tourist season on Lake Baikal.
Eight teams took part in the quest. The participants performed sports, intellectual and creative tasks. The national team “Record”, the holder of 2018 Bandy World Cup became the winner. The next winter event will be held on 8th December in Baykalsk - the only ski resort on the shore of the lake Gora Sobolinaya will open the season here. By tradition, there will be a mass descent and a show program, accompanied with a drawing of the annual ski pass.
Irkutsk region ranks 13th in the rating of tourist attractiveness of Russian regions, having welcomed more than 1.5 million tourists in 2017.

Taking part in the Baikal Mile is a great way to test your limits of possibilities and feel the breath of nature in one of the most beautiful places on earth.
In 2024, the festival of ice sculptures on Lake Baikal is scheduled for the period from February 15 to 28. During these two weeks, the lake shore will turn into a real open-air museum, where everyone will be able to enjoy sculptural masterpieces created from ice.
The portal has been created for FSBI ”Informational and Analytical Center for Development of Water Bodies and Associated Properties” under the special program “Protection of Lake Baikal and Socio-Economic Development of the Baikal Natural Preserve for 2012-2020.”
