Activities within the FTP framework aimed at the following tasks: reduction of pollutants discharge into water bodies of the Baikal natural territory; reduction of waste pollution in the Baikal natural territory, including rehabilitation of lands exposed to high and extremely high pollution; enhanced efficiency of using the recreation potential of specially protected natural territories; conservation and restoration of biological resources in the Baikal natural territory; development of state environmental monitoring for the unique Lake Baikal ecosystem; development of a coastal protection system for Lake Baikal, rivers, and other water bodies in the Baikal natural territory.
